Truncated hexagonal section cone, the facets chiseled with bands ribs (similar to the prostitute's pendants of the period) superficially imitating a gemstone and blatantly advertising the intentions of the wearer. Roman prostitutes were typically adolescents, largely slaves. Prostitution was practiced openly with brothels sometimes sharing doors with libraries.
