
A rare Victorian novelty silver field gun table lighter with marks for William Gibson & John Lawrence Langman, overstriking that of another probably George Angell / Frederick Courthope, London 1889 Accurately modelled as an RML field gun and carriage with working elevating gear, with silver rimmed and copper spoked wheels, the seats with sliding foot rests, the lighter wick positioned where the ignition vent would be, the ramrod acting as taper-holder, with two removable 'buckets' presumably for extinguishing the taper, sitting on a plinth base, length 27cm, weight total 28.3oz.
