Description: Antique Travelling Patent Inkwell – Hexagonal Leather-Covered Case c.1890
A compact and well-engineered late 19th-century travelling inkwell, housed in a hexagonal case with dark leather covering.
The interior features a spring-loaded brass inkwell mechanism with a hinged lid, designed to keep ink sealed securely while in transit.
The gilt-lined lid is stamped PATENT and inscribed with the initials D.A..
One compartment appears to be lacking its original fitting—possibly a pen holder or other small accessory.
Considerable surface wear and leather losses to the exterior, but the hinge remains sound and the mechanism still opens and closes properly.
An unusual piece for the collector of antique writing instruments or travel accessories.
Dimensions: Approx. 4.5 x 4.5 x 4.5 cm
Condition: Worn throughout, with surface losses.
Missing one small internal element.
