A finely matched pair of English porcelain soup bowls, each with gently scalloped and moulded rims, decorated in underglaze cobalt blue with stylised sprays of fruit and flowers, accompanied by scattered floral sprigs.
The crisp floral motifs and the quality of the porcelain are highly indicative of the Caughley manufactory or early Coalport production—both renowned for their elegant table wares in the late 18th century.
Unmarked, as was common for the period, but the form, glaze, and decoration strongly support this attribution.
