
A JUNYAO BOWL Yuan Dynasty The vessel resting on a short foot, with deep flared sides rising to a rounded rim, covered in a flecked pale milky blue glaze darkening at the rim, the glaze falling unevenly above the foot revealing the brown stoneware body. 19cm (7 1/2in) diam. Jun ware was originally made in Junzhou Prefecture in Henan province. By the Yuan Dynasty, the production of Jun ware had spread to other kiln sites in Henan, Hebei and Shanxi provinces.
