Three Longton Hall teabowls and saucers, circa 1754-60 Painted in blue with Chinese landscapes, two teabowls and saucers with the same pattern depicting a hut with zig-zig fence situated between tall rocks and a tree, one with a single line border below the rims, saucers 11.8cm diam, one saucer with workman's mark '2A', the other saucer with numeral '4', the third example painted with the 'Crossed Fence' pattern, saucer 12.2cm diam (6) Footnotes: Provenance Sotheby's, 2 February 1982, lot 161 ('Crossed Fence' pattern teabowl and saucer) Susi and Ian Sutherland Collection, Bonhams,3 October 2007, lot 92 (part) (teabowl and saucer with line border) Lyn and Maurice Hillis Collection The 'Crossed Fence' pattern would appear to be unique to Longton Hall.
