A pearlware Admiral Lord Rodney mug, circa 1800 Modelled as the head and shoulders of the naval hero, coloured in brown, ochre, blue and puce, 10.8cm high Footnotes: George Brydges Rodney (1719-1792), first Baron Rodney was made Admiral in 1778. In 1782, he defeated the French at the Battle of the Saintes. Two creamware examples of the same shape are illustrated by John and Griselda Lewis, Pratt Ware (1984), p.144.
