
A South Staffordshire enamel cruet stand a large vinegar bottle, circa 1760-70 The low salt or cruet with dual reserves accommodating blue glass liners, the undulating form finely painted with figures in rural landscapes, the panels reserved on a deep blue ground extensively heightened with raised gold, 13cm wide, the bottle inscribed 'VINEGAR' within a purple floral and scroll cartouche, the white ground with scattered colourful flowers and leaves, with a pull-off metal cover, 16.8cm high (5) Footnotes: The vinegar bottle is a rare survivor.
