
Two rare Bow teabowls, circa 1754-58 The taller teabowl of flared quatrelobed form on a high circular footrim, sparsely painted with scattered sprigs and florets in a Kakiemon palette, 5.2cm high, the smaller teabowl or small bowl of shallow fluted shape, decorated in the style of James Welsh with flowers and insects to the exterior, a red and gilt floral border to the interior rim, 3.4cm high (2) Footnotes: Provenance Tryhorn Collection Anton Gabszewicz Collection A very curious and rare piece, the unusual quatrelobed shape would appear to be after Meissen and the painting perhaps more reminiscent of the Kakiemon style interpreted on French soft paste factories such as St Cloud.
