
A Chelsea bowl and saucer dish, circa 1752-55 The bowl octagonal, painted in famille verte style to both sides with trailing flowering plants, the everted rim with a dense foliate border reserved on a green ground, a flowering branch to the interior, 10.7cm diam, red anchor mark, the dish of decagonal shape with a petal-lobed rim, painted and gilt in kakiemon style with two phoenix-like birds, one perched on a flowering prunus tree behind banded hedges, the other in flight, 16.5cm diam (2) Footnotes: Provenance Anton Gabszewicz Collection A similar bowl was sold by Bonhams on 1 December 2021, lot 390 and a similar dish on 14 April 2010, lot 73.
