
A group of Bow and Derby porcelains, circa 1758-70 Comprising a Bow teapot and cover, of bullet-form, painted in blue with flowers growing in a fenced enclosure, with a diaper border, 12.5cm high, a small Bow sauceboat, with crisp rococo moulded panels edged with flowers painted in blue with floral sprays, 17.8cm long, impressed 'T' mark, the larger Bow sauceboat with cell borders below the shaped rim, the panels painted with animated figures in garden settings, 20.4cm long, together with a small Derby basket, ropetwist handles with tiny flower terminals mimicking the florets applied to the exterior, a Chinese riverscape to the interior, 12cm diam, patch marks, a Derby ladle, with a rococo scroll handle and shell-moulded bowl, painted with a stylised floral sprig, 18.4cm long (6) Footnotes: Provenance Watney Collection, Phillips, 1 November 2000, lot 1160 (Derby basket) Anton Gabszewicz Collection Literature Nicholas Panes, British Porcelain Sauceboats of the 18th Century (2009) p.80, fig.122 (smaller Bow sauceboat) The same shape of teapot painted in a different foliate pattern is illustrated by Anton Gabszewicz in Made in Canton, Bow Porcelain from the Collection of the London Borough of Newham (2000), p.31, no.14.
