Two Vauxhall teabowls and saucers and another saucer, circa 1755-58 Thinly potted, one teabowl and saucer painted in blue with a rocky Chinese landscape with hut and tiered pagoda, the second teabowl and saucer with a figure holding a fan, standing by a fence, between narrow scroll and sgraffito borders, the single saucer with a figure standing by a squawking bird saucers 11.5cm diam (5) Footnotes: Provenance R E D Shafto Collection, Christie's, 9 February 1981, lot 149 (first-mentioned teabowl and saucer, left in photo) Lyn and Maurice Hillis Collection The single saucer is painted in a charming pattern quite accurately noted by Lyn and Maurice Hillis as 'bird shouting at a man'.
