A rare Worcester sparrow beak jug, circa 1755 of baluster shape with a grooved loop handle, painted in polychrome with the 'Boy on a Buffalo' pattern, a spreading tree before buildings to one side, a bird in flight above sampans and rockwork to the other, 8.3cm high Footnotes: Provenance Rous Lench Collection, Christie's, 30 May 1990, lot 453 This pattern was typically 'pencilled' in black at Worcester and it is exceedingly rare to find a coloured version.
