
A Worcester bough pot, circa 1768-70 Of exuberant rococo scroll-moulded form, the high back pierced with two holes, the fixed cover with one large and twenty smaller apertures, the lobed sides moulded with three panels, printed in purple with detailed scenes, two panels depicting figures amongst classical ruins, the third with shepherds and their flock in a bucolic setting, the moulded high-points picked out in puce, turquoise and gold, 16.4cm high, 21.7cm wide Footnotes: The use of overglaze printing is rarely found on Worcester bough pots.
