
Two Worcester creamboats, circa 1762-65 The first of hexagonal form, the geranium leaf moulded below the spout picked out in red, the double scrolled handle with a thumbrest, both sides delicately moulded with scrolled panels picked out in puce and painted with colourful floral sprays, purple scrolls and a floret inside the rim, 11cm long, the other of 'low Chelsea ewer' shape, spirally moulded, the lower section moulded with leaves, painted in the Chinese style with the 'Hibiscus' or 'Honeysuckle' pattern of large trailing flowers and 'Sacred Scrolls', further sprigs and an insect to the interior, 11cm long (2) Footnotes: Provenance Thomas Grant Dixon Collection (Chelsea ewer) A similar hexagonal creamboat from the Ralph Kenber Collection was sold by Bonhams on 15 December 2020, lot 138, and a similar 'low Chelsea ewer' on 10 December 2008, lot 173.
