
A Royal Crown Derby ewer by Désiré Leroy, dated 1901 Of flattened pear shape with a heavily moulded foot, the gilded handle moulded with a flower and heightened in turquoise jewelling, finely painted with a spray of colourful garden flowers, signed 'Leroy', the elaborate scrolled border in tooled and raised gold and turquoise enamel, a single pink rose within a raised gold medallion below the spout, the reverse with a spray of flowers in raised gilding, reserved on a deep blue ground within rich green and gold borders, 15.4cm high, printed gold mark Footnotes: Provenance Bonhams, 8 March 2000, lot 205 Another ewer of this shape by Désiré Leroy is illustrated by John Twitchett and Betty Bailey, Royal Crown Derby (1988), pl.34.
