An extremely rare Flight, Barr and Barr Worcester libation cup, circa 1820-30 Of flared oval form, the openwork foot issuing leafy branches, finely picked out in gold, delicately painted with daisies om a green ground, a gilt dentil border below the interior rim, 8.7cm wide, 6.3cm high, red script mark 'Flight Barr & Barr, Royal Porcelain Works, Worcester, London House, 1 Coventry St' Footnotes: Provenance Anton Gabszewicz Collection Exhibited 'The Flowering of British Ceramics', Northern Ceramics Society, 2022, item 109 The script mark is truly tiny on this interesting cabinet piece. There would appear to be no comparable example in the literature and this was presumably a special commission. The shape very closely follows those of Chinese blanc-de-chine porcelain copied at Chelsea and Bow in the early 1750s. The present lot is a curious mixture of that restrained and elemental form with rich decoration to suit the Regency taste.
