
A Sèvres hard-paste porcelain armorial cup and saucer (gobelet litron et soucoupe), dated 1781 Of the second size, painted with the arms of the Bonnaire de Gif family surrounded by gilt foliate cartouches, gilt dentil borders, the cup: 6.8cm high; the saucer: 14cm diam., crowned interlaced LL monogram enclosing date letter dd in red, painter's mark for Charles Buteux and gilder's mark for Weydinger, incised mark to cup (chip to footrim of cup, some wear) (2) Footnotes: Provenance: The Richard Deacon Collection The arms are probably those of Marie-Charles-Louis de Bonnaire de Gif who was Master of Accounts from 1776 until at least 1790.
