
A good late 19th century French striking and repeating gorge case carriage clock Drocourt, retailed by Klaftenberger, 157 Regent Street London & Paris The case surmounted by a rippled carrying handle over a large rectangular bevelled observation window and repeat button to a moulded top, the glazed sides and back supported by shaped uprights and terminating in a moulded base. The 2.5 inch white enamel dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, subsidiary alarm setting dial to the lower section, signed Klaftenberger 157 Regent Street London & Paris with blued steel Breguet-style hands. The twin-train movement with silvered lever platform escapement, striking the hours and half-hours on a blued steel gong mounted to the backplate, with alarm train set to the top left corner, also sounding on the same gong, also signed to the backplate by the retailer and stamped with the factory mark for Drocourt.
