
A good early 20th century striking and repeating carriage clock with original leather travel case Henri Jacot, Paris No.11976 The case surmounted by a geometric carrying handle over a shaped observation window, the sides glazed and terminating in a shaped plinth base. The 2.5in. white enamel dial with Roman and Arabic numerals framed by a mat gilt mask and fitted with blued steel hands. The movement signed Henri Jacot, Paris and stamped with the number 11976, with silvered English-style lever platform escapement, striking the hours and half-hours on a blued steel gong mounted to the backplate. Currently ticking and striking, and sold together with a winding key and the original leather travelling case, the lid tooled with the initials HCH. 16.5cm (6.25 inches) high.
