
A collection of two late 19th century French carriage clocks One signed: Hamilton & Co., Calcutta and Bombay The first clock surmounted by a brass carrying handle over an oval observation window, the simple sides with bevelled glass observation panels and terminating in a moulded base. The 2.75-inch white enamel dial with Roman numerals framed by a matt gilt mask and signed Hamilton & Co., Calcutta and Bombay - Made in France. The twin train movement with a cylinder platform escapement, striking the hours and half hours on a blued steel gong mounted to the back plate. Currently ticking and striking. The second clock, housed in a leather travel case, surmounted by a brass carrying handle over a rectangular observation window, the decorated moulded top with simple supports above bevelled glass observation windows, terminating in a decorated moulded base and raised on four block feet. The 2.75-inch rectangular enamel dial with blue Arabic numerals framed by a gilt brass mask and fitted with gilt hands. The twin train movement with a later lever platform escapement, striking the hours and half hours on a blued steel gong mounted to the back plate.
