
A very large mid Victorian giltwood and gilt composition overmantel mirror Circa 1865 The arched plate flanked by stop-fluted Corinthian pilasters each with an egg and dart moulded and stiff leaf wrapped capital, below an overlapping disc inset panel and scrolled stylised foliage within a spandrel, with beading above interpsersed by guttae angles, the rosette embedded guilloche frieze centred by a flowerhead and twin bellflower trail tablet, the ogee moulded cornice wrapped with alternating acanthus and lotus leaves, surmounted by an opposing volute scroll cresting with a central foliate spray, 230cm high x 182cm wide.
