
An Edwardian or early 20th century Chippendale revival mahogany wardrobe 1905-1925, after a 'Director' design by Thomas Chippendale With a pierced fretwork frieze above a pair of doors with acanthus, c-scroll, rocaille and bellflower carved shaped arched columnar panel mouldings, enclosing a brass hanging rail and pegs, over a bombe base comprised of one deep drawer, flanked by abundantly carved keeled angles, on similarly embellished spreading feet, 133cm wide x 70cm deep x 210cm high, (52in wide x 27 1/2in deep x 82 1/2in high) Footnotes: The offered lot very closely follows a 1753 design for a 'Cloths Press' executed by Thomas Chippendale.
