
OF HISTORICAL ROYAL INTEREST: A late 17th century vellum Letters Patent with Royal Pardon from King Charles II for murder Dated September 18th 1679 Pertaining to the pardoning of Rowland St John for the 'Folonius death and killing of one Michael Style' whilst reinstating several grants, signed 'By writt of privy seale, Pigott' , and granted for use in perpetuity as written on the reverse, the initial letter, portrait of Charles II and the border taken from printed engraving, and partly hand coloured, the main text hand scribed, now lacking the original wax seal, mounted within a later glazed gilt frame, 87cm wide, 65cm high overall approximately Footnotes: Richard Pigott (d. 1699) notably prepared a Letter Patent dated March 4, 1680 on behalf of Charles II granting William Penn a province in America to be called 'Pensilvania'.
