
A Spanish late 17th/early 18th century walnut writing or side table With an overhanging top, above two short raised geometric moulded and twin tablet frieze drawers, each tablet inset with a central raised lozenge, on ring turned and spiral fluted legs, with an H-stretcher, 166.5cm wide x 87cm deep x 81.5cm high, (65 1/2in wide x 34in deep x 32in high) Footnotes: Provenance Until fairly recently the offered table formed part of a collection of furniture and works of art, ranging from the 15th century to the 18th century, which furnished an early 15th century Sussex manor house. This collection was amassed predominantly over the course of the last quarter of the previous century; it included a number of rare and, in a few instances, very early pieces of furniture.
