Vintage Sterling Double Fish Clamper Bracelet, Amethyst Accents, 7.5", Signed Valladares and marked sterling and Taxco. Valladares is Albert Valladares Gomes of Mexico, known for modernish work. Age is appx. 1950's-1960's. This has a bypass design of two fish with bezel-set amethyst eyes and an additional stone at each of the fin surves at the top of the bracelet. The bracelet is appx. 2.5" wide at the heads which is the widest point, and then tapers down to appx. 1" at the back of the wrist. Detailed repousse design. The hinge works. It does not snap back but closes and stays closed - you can open it and set it open in a wider position to slip your wrist through and then press it closed. Weight of the bracelet is appx. 64.65 gr and it does test as sterling. The bracelet is different, has a cultural/ethnic look and feel as well as a modernist artestry to it. I'd call it very good condition - The hinge is not snappy but I've run into this same way in older pieces. It functions as it should, keep closed. This has that Mexican and Southwestern look as well.
