Description: This industrial yet elegant hanging lamp from the 1940s features a Holophane glass shade. The pendant light is connected by an aluminum casing fixed to the top of the light fixture and is a rare brass-plated variant not seen often. A holophane glass ceiling fixture is a type of lighting fixture that features a glass shade with a prismatic design that refracts light to create a soft, diffused glow. The holophane glass shade was first introduced in the late 19th century and quickly became popular due to its ability to reduce glare and distribute light evenly. This fixture is commonly found in public buildings, such as libraries and museums, as well as in residential settings. It comes in a variety of styles and sizes and can be used to add both functional and decorative lighting to a space. Dimensions of light are 5” high.
