La Fiesta (1997) belongs to Leandro Soto's symbolic and transgressive imagery, where the human figure is fragmented and reconfigured within a space charged with eroticism, theatricality, and ritual energy. Curved planes and intense chromatic contrasts suggest a body in transformation, marked by tensions between desire, masking, and identity. The expressive use of color and line generates an atmosphere of ambiguous celebration, in which festivity coexists with unease. Drawing on myth, performance, and cultural hybridity, the work reflects Soto's sustained interest in the body as a site of ritual enactment and symbolic displacement. Leandro Soto was an internationally active Cuban artist whose multidisciplinary practice explored identity, eroticism, spirituality, and performativity through a critical and experimental lens.
