Las moscas marcan el lugar (1995) presents an image charged with symbolic intensity, in which the human body is intersected by linear structures that function as axes of tension and vulnerability. Reduced to an almost anatomical schematic, the figure is crossed by geometric planes that suggest control, designation, or restriction of movement. The softly gestural background contrasts with the rigidity of the linear framework, heightening the sense of bodily fragility in the face of external systems of order or symbolic violence. The work belongs to a critical exploration of the individual as an intervened territory, where physical presence and conceptual structure overlap in an image of unsettling clarity. Luis Gómez is a contemporary Cuban artist whose work approaches the human body through a conceptual lens, examining tensions between structure, identity, and existential experience.
