Centinela presents a vertical figure of strong totemic presence, in which the human form is abstracted into an emblem of vigilance and endurance. The smooth surface and uniform chromatic treatment encourage a symbolic reading that oscillates between ritual object and utilitarian form, evoking both archaic presences and contemporary markers. The sculpture establishes a dialogue between tradition and contemporaneity, proposing a silent figure that observes and guards. Through formal synthesis and an emphasis on verticality, the work condenses notions of identity, memory, and territory-recurring concerns within the artist's practice. Adonis Flores is a contemporary Cuban sculptor whose work explores figure, object, and symbol from a conceptual perspective, integrating cultural reference with refined formal economy.
