Description

Rare small amulet in form of a bronze flute, probably Bwa, lost wax-cast with grooves along sides of neck. Weathered loss on one side from continuous wear against skin. Perforation through arms for suspension. Dark patina with small oxidized green deposits, earthen deposits inside. Custom base. 2-1/8"H. (5.4cm).

Provenance: Ex. Thomas G.B. Wheelock (1941-2016), NYC. and Nashville.
