Description
Yousuf Karsh CC RCA FRPS was an Armenian-Canadian photographer renowned for his iconic portraits of influential figures of the 20th century. Widely regarded as one of the greatest portrait photographers of his era, Karsh achieved international recognition following his 1941 portrait of Winston Churchill, which marked a pivotal moment in his career. He subsequently photographed numerous prominent political leaders, artists, writers, and scientists. Prior to his retirement in 1993, more than twenty of his photographs appeared on the cover of Life magazine.
