Late Koto to early Shinto-period katana mounted in samurai-style fittings. The blade dates to the late 16th or early 17th century and bears a partial signature reading Banshu Nagasawa ju Yoshi…, possibly referring to Banshu Yoshinaga, a smith active in Harima Province at the beginning of the Edo-period. The blade features a Soshu-style notare hamon. The mounts date to the late Edo-period (circa 1800s) and include a custom tsuka, signed iron tsuba, and a nashiji lacquered saya |||| MEASUREMENTS: Overall length: approx. 36.75 in. | Blade length (guard to tip): approx. 27 in. | Blade tip to tang tip: approx. 34.5 in.
