Kaendler, on three gilt-edged scroll feet, the handle base with gilt-edged leaves, painted in puce monochrome with three landscape vignettes depicting Watteauesque couples in park settings, the rims with gilt borders of trellis panels and scrollwork, the cover applied with a lemon finial with leaf terminals, together with a later gilt-metal pierced circular gallery for mounting as a pot-pourri, 16.5cm diam.; 18.5cm high, crossed swords mark in underglaze-blue (restored haircrack to rim of dish) (3) Footnotes: The model is mentioned by Kaendler in his work records in April and September of 1745 (R.
