Toile de Nantes 'Le mouton chéri', large roller-printed cotton fabric representing pastoral scenes, printed in red after a design by Pierre Mader, possibly made as a bed cover, a few light stains or spots, approximately 2020 x 1200mm., [Nantes, Favre & Petitpierre & Cie, c.1785]; together with 4 smaller pieces (5) Footnotes: A fine large rococco fabric design inspired by a pastoral scene ('Le mouton chéri') engraved by René Gaillard after a lost painting by Francois Boucher. Images include various courting couples, lovers, mothers feeding, and 'country folk' amongst trees, ruins, etc. Lot to be sold without reserve.
