Description
This antique, blue and white Japanese porcelain teapot has a decorative knopped cap with a small breathing hole and dobin style handle connectors for interchanging rattan or bamboo handles that can be attached by handle hooks. This has the advantage of staying cool despite the heat of the porcelain’s surface. The teapot is decorated with hand-painted designs of abstract vegetation, repeating circular spirals, stuttered paint strokes as shading detail and flower design. The fluted rim opening and the lid cover share an encircling swirl or diapered design. The teapot is in excellent antique condition. Bottom of the spout has some very minor fleabites. I see no other chips, cracks, etc. Please review the photos carefully and ask any questions. The teapot is as I have found it, with its surface dirt, and with fire marks on the bottom.
