Canadian. Early 1950s-1961. Pressed steel. The "Beaver Lumber" dump truck was part of Otaco's "private label" series of toys. These were promotional or display models made for specific companies and not intended for retail sale. As a result, production runs were usually small, which meant fewer examples entered the market. Companies, like Beaver Lumber, would give these out to their clients and distributors as a form of advertising. Otaco began manufacturing the Beaver Lumber dump truck in the early 1950s, the peak expansion period for the company's private-label toys. Embossed, "Minitoys [sic] Otaco Ltd.
