
Canadian. 1950s. Pressed steel. This oil tanker was part of Otaco's "private-label" series of toys. Private-label toys were promotional or display models made for specific companies and not intended for retail sale. As a result, production runs were usually small, which meant fewer examples entered the market. Decalled, "Canadian Made Minnitoys by Otaco Limited Orillia, Ontario", on cab doors. Embossed, "Minitoys [sic] Otaco Ltd. Orillia Canada Made in Canada", on tires. From the Yvan Lalonde Collection.

Good condition. Original paint and decals. Significant oxidation with paint nicks, scratches, and areas of paint loss, most notably to the raised portion of the tanker roof. Areas of loss and scratches to decals.
