American. 1950s. Pressed steel. Plastic crates and bottles. The Buddy L Coca-Cola truck was a major seller for the company and a staple of the brand's line. Buddy L was a pioneer in partnering with massive brands like Coca-Cola to recreate "real-world" vehicles. While Coca-Cola is synonymous with the colour red, the trucks from the 1950s (as well as in some later decades) were famously produced in bright yellow. This reflected the actual colour of many real-world delivery fleets during that era, and because Coca-Cola was a household name, children were already familiar with the real delivery fleets, making the brand and this toy a huge success. Decalled, "Buddy L", on rear of truck. From the Yvan Lalonde Collection.
