American. Late 1980s-Early 1900s. Pressed steel, aluminum. The "Mable's Diner" piece was originally sold as a set along with a Mack L-Series cab. It was configured as a mobile diner. The diner set was part of Fred Thompson's "newer" line of toys that were never originally produced in the 1950s (by Smith-Miller). The diner was always sold as a complete truck and trailer set, a single cohesive unit, and never as a stand-alone piece. This Mabel's Diner has been custom-made as a unique display piece. Stamped, "043 100", on inside of diner. From the Yvan Lalonde Collection.
