American. Late 1950s. Pressed steel. This toy was an authorized model, based on a real industrial machine, the "Baker Industrial Traveloader" (as noted on the driver's door decal). As with many toy companies, Ny-Lint developed a line of military-themed toys as a way of appealing to the period's military fascination. This is a piece of Cold War-era toy history, noted for its detailed design and functional features. Marked, "Ny-Lint Tool & Mfg. Co., Rockford, Ill.", on box and instruction sheet. Decalled, "Ny-Lint Toys Manufactured By Ny-Lint Tool & Mfg. Co., Rockford, Ill.", on passenger cab door. From the Yvan Lalonde Collection.
