American. Late 1940s. Pressed steel. Despite the absence of the Louis Marx & Co. logo, this NC-2100 model is known to be manufactured by the Marx company. According to Marx company records, they did not typically place their traditional Marx logo on the exterior of the Pan American Airlines NC-2100. In addition, the "Pan American World Airways" decal, the 27-inch wingspan, four-engine configuration and the use of wooden wheels are all hallmarks of Marx production for this model. Embossed, "Made In U.S.A.", on underside of one wing. From the Yvan Lalonde Collection.
