American. Late 1950s-mid 1960s. Pressed steel. As noted in the company bio, the Moline company underwent several name changes since its inception in 1910. We address this to clarify the "Moline" marking on this truck. While this truck was made in the late 50s to the mid 60s (when the company was no longer using the Moline name), the toy would have been made at the original historic Moline factory, where the production of Buddy "L" toys continued well into the 1960s, hence the "Moline" decal. The "550" embossed on the grille identifies the truck as being modelled after a GMC 550 series truck, appropriate for the era. Decalled, "Made By Moline Pressed Steel Corporation", at lower driver's side chassis below cab. Embossed, "550", on grille. Embossed, "Buddy 'L' USA", on tires. Decalled, "Release L Lever", on underside. From the Yvan Lalonde Collection.
