American. 1960s. Pressed steel. This Buddy L toy (Model No. 5429) was made in Canada under the brand name "L'il Beaver Toys & Trucks". L'il Beaver operated as a Canadian manufacturer that used licensed designs or similar tooling to produce toys for the Canadian market. These toys often "borrowed" parts and designs from various American manufacturers, including Buddy L. This toy is considered a Canadian-variant of the original American Buddy L design.
