Canadian. 1946-1950s. Pressed steel. This truck was made by Louis Marx & Co. under the Lumar brand. "Lumar Contractors" was not a real construction company; it was a fictional brand name created to make the toy trucks appear more authentic to children. This particular toy was manufactured in Canada. The Marx company was known for having expanded its production facilities worldwide. Canadian operations were primarily in Toronto, Ontario, with toys being common fixtures in Canadian holiday catalogues. Decalled, "Made in Canada Marx Toys" and "Lumar Contractors", on cab doors.
