American. 1950s. Pressed steel. The "Toyland Oil Company" is a fictional name used by the Structo company for its line of toy tanker trucks. The name was part of their creative branding approach to make their toy trucks more appealing to children. "Structo 66" refers to a specific model rather than a production or any other "date". The "66" line included two versions, wind-up and unpowered. This truck is the wind-up version, and is often cited as model No. 866 in early Structo toy catalogues. Both "66" and "866" numbers are correct for this toy. Decalled, "Structo Toys Freeport, Illinois, U.S.A.", on cab doors. Embossed, "Structo Mfg. Co. Toys Structo Freeport Ill." and "C-1302", on underside. Embossed, "Structo Toys", on tires. From the Yvan Lalonde Collection.
