Canadian. 1950s. Pressed steel. This truck was part of Otaco's "private-label" series of toys. These were promotional or display models made for specific companies and not intended for retail sale. As a result, production runs were usually small, which meant fewer examples entered the market. Companies would give these out to their clients and distributors as a form of advertising. Decalled, "Canadian Made Minnitoys by Otaco Limited Orillia Ontario", on inside of trailer door. Embossed, "Minitoys [sic] Otaco Ltd. Orillia Canada Made in Canada", on tires.
