American. 1944-1946. Wood with metal accessories and plastic windows. Wooden toys, such as this Buddy "L" Milk Farms truck, were sometimes referred to as "Buddy "L" Victory" toys, created when steel was scarce, and companies had to turn to other materials as a way of supporting the war effort by repurposing materials such as wood scraps. The "Milk Farms" is not a real-life farm or company, but rather, the name of a popular series of toy delivery trucks made by the Moline company during WWII. Decalled, "Buddy L", on side panels. From the Yvan Lalonde Collection.
