American. 1930-1932. Pressed steel. This toy was made early on at the outset of the Great Depression (1929-1941). Toys made in this period are often in greater demand than some earlier models, primarily because fewer were being made during this period. Embossed, "Buddy L", on cab doors. Marked, "Buddy "L" Company Quality Toys East Moline, Il. Made in the U.S. of America", on hitch between cab and trailer. Decalled, "Buddy L", on sides of tanker. From the Yvan Lalonde Collection.
