Canadian. 1950s. Pressed steel. The "Sirop Bebe Charles" (Charles Baby Syrup) tractor-trailer was part of Otaco's "private-label" series of toys. These were promotional or display models made for specific companies and not intended for retail sale. As a result, production runs were usually small, which meant fewer examples entered the market. Companies would give these out to their clients and distributors as a form of advertising. "Sirop Bebe Charles" was a product of Canada Drug. Co. based in Montreal, Quebec. Marked, "Canadian Made Minnitoys by Otaco Limited Orillia Ontario", on passenger cab door, with remnants of same label on driver's cab door. From the Yvan Lalonde Collection.
